John Noel Kenneally joined Crawford Supported Studios in 2018. He describes his art work as painting stories. He says ‘Yeah, mostly it’s practice. Pure determination, like, and stuff like that, to tell a story.’ John uses acrylic paint, which he applies directly from the tube onto card or board. He moves the thick paint around the surface with a brush, sponge, cloth or his fingers, rather than using a palette. Figures, faces, words and personal symbols emerge from storms of paint. In 2022, John participated in Midleton Arts Fest at the Art Market, and worked with photographer Clare Keogh to create an artist video portrait.
