John Noel Kenneally joined Crawford Supported Studios in 2018 and sadly passed away in 2023.
He described his art work as painting stories. He said ‘Yeah, mostly it’s practice. Pure determination, like, and stuff like that, to tell a story.’ John used acrylic paint, which he applied directly from the tube onto card or board. He moved the thick paint around the surface with a brush, sponge, cloth or his fingers, rather than using a palette. Figures, faces, words and personal symbols emerged from storms of paint. In 2022, John participated in Midleton Arts Fest at the Art Market, and worked with photographer Clare Keogh to create an artist video portrait.
