Katie describes her work by saying “It’s all about love!”. Her paintings present imaginary landscapes with the theme of love and affection in abundance. Katie continually returns to floral, heart motifs and pattern. She begins by drawing, sharing stories of her experiences and things she likes. As the layers of paint build up often everything but the heart motifs are obscured.
Katie has exhibited widely including: Nash 19 Sternview Gallery, Cork Public Museum, Millennium Hall, Cork, Quay Co-op, Cork, Sirius Arts Centre, Cobh, The Vision Centre, Cork, The Irish Examiner (Newspaper) Office, Cork, Crawford Art Gallery, Flat Iron Gallery, New York, Paul Bardwell Gallery of Contemporary Art, Medellín, Colombia. Katie was a long-term member of the Glasheen Artist Studio Project (GASP).
