Marie traces her hands, outlines them, draws grids on them and then, using a dry point tool, scores into those lines. Paint is applied and wiped off almost as if preparing a plate for printing. The physicality of her art making process seems to suggest the stamping of identity, here I am, where are you?
Marie has exhibited widely including: Nash 19 Sternview Gallery, Cork Public Museum, Millennium Hall, Cork, Quay Co-op, Cork, Sirius Arts Centre, Cobh, The Vision Centre, Cork, Crawford Art Gallery, Paul Bardwell Gallery of Contemporary Art, Medellín, Colombia. Marie was a long-term member of the Glasheen Artist Studio Project (GASP).
