If you happen to be on Cork’s Coal Quay you may spot Yvonne Condon’s street painting. Just before Cornmarket Street turns into Kyle Street, across the way from Peg Twomey’s shop. Yvonne’s street painting is based on the traditions of the street, past and present traders. It was made possible by Arts & Disability Connect scheme award, and support from Cork City Council. Yvonne is a member of Crawford Supported Studios and is the first artist with an intellectual disability to receive a New Work Award through the scheme.
Yvonne is non-verbal, and has limited hearing, and is only able to see with one of her eyes. She makes bold and uncompromising images with great speed, inspired by everyday life.
